Ground zero.jpgTrucks rolled at Ground Zero today. Concrete trucks, seventy of them, came to the site to dump more than 500 cubic yards of concrete for the core of the Freedom Tower. The concrete are for footings being poured to support the 1,776-foot tower. Construction supervisors say it will take up to two years for the building going up at Ground Zero to reach street level. The Port Authority, which owns the site, recently poured concrete to support the PATH rail center in another part of the work site. The construction is going forward despite continued protests by supporters of victims’ families who object to the project going forward while more human remains are being discovered at the downtown construction site.

  1. Concrete pours over my bones
I no longer have the life that once was
my family mourns the country ignores
the pleas of the love that remains
to be mourned I live I love I grow
    in spirit now remember me
peace love joy is my prayer for you
    I love from beyond
    you love from within and
    withal your heart never forget
    never forget never forget
