Anthony Coscia, chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, has announced that China Center, financially supported by a Chinese real estate company to promote Sino-American trade, became the first to sign a lease for the Freedom Tower being built on the World Trade Center site, reports the World Journal.
China Center signed a 23-year lease to
rent 190,000 square feet office space on the 64th through the 69th floor of the Freedom Tower. Christopher Ward, director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said China Center’s lease proved that private companies believe in the World Trade Center’s future as the financial and business center of lower Manhattan.

Yes, we Americans just don’t have enough products in our homes with the label, “Made in China.”
The moment has arrived when we must activate our ingenuity. Competition is a wonderful motivator, and the Chinese corporate executives could use a lesson in just how perseverant the Western mind can be. If each individual takes a personal survey in regard to the quality of his/her life, a new standard of excellence would prevail.
As human beings and stewards of this great planet, maintaining possession of unnecessary property hinders progress in the area of environmental balance. In fact, clutter only serves two purposes: as the distraction from one’s genuine purpose or the catalyst to begin organizing one’s life.
Understanding other cultures and recognizing the beauty in humanity’s ability to interact positively with all inhabitants of earth should be the primary focus of any tenant of the new World Trade Center. We can learn much from early philosophies of the Eastern nations, and I sincerely hope that is the intention of the statement “to promote Sino-American trade.” Anything less is superfluous.
